    Turkish National arrested after shooting a 15 year-old in Kikambala

    It was a sigh of relief for community members from the Onesmus Good News Rehabilitation Center in Kikambala, Kilifi County after a Turkish National accused of shooting a 15-year-old boy was arrested.

    According to the rehabilitation center’s manager Phelistus Garama, the 15 year old who is currently in stable condition after being shot was Thursday heading to the Rehabilitation center after playing a football match with his friends, when he was shot.

    “At that time we had no idea which hospital our boy was rushed to, we however reported the matter at the Mtwapa police station. We are now happy that he is doing well, ” Phelistus Garama, the manager Onesmus rehabilitation center said.

    According to Kilifi South Police commander Mohammed Waqo, a fracas had ensued on the road and the suspect was allegedly confronted by a rowdy crowd when he later stopped his vehicle and pulled out his firearm.

    “He started shooting and in the process the boy, was injured. He was shot on the chest, slightly above the left nipple as the bullet went through him,” Kilifi South police boss said.

    The 15 year old is currently recuperating at the Coast general Hospital where his health is being monitored.

    According to the residents, the Turkish National has been in the past involved in violent incidents, and all the times he has managed to escape justice.

    The man is expected to be charged in court on Monday when he will face among other charges, attempted murder.
