NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 26- Two police officers accused of killing a man, Dennis Lusava, and later dumping his body in the River Nzoia were on Monday presented before the Eldoret Law courts Principal Magistrate Naomi Wairimu.

The two officers are Emmanuel Wafula and, Godwin Wekesa. Also arraigned in court alongside them was a third suspect identified as Reuben Obadiah.

They are accused of torturing the deceased after he was arrested on October 7 for not wearing a mask.

Police however at the time claimed the suspect had assaulted a police officer and taken to Mbururu police post in Kakamega.

Days later on October 11, his body was found in River Nzoia.

Sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations made an application in court to have the suspects detained for 14 more days, to allow the conclusion of the investigations.

Post-mortem results indicate that Lusava might have been killed in a different location before his body was dumped in River Nzoia near Lukhova Village in Webuye.

There were attempts however to make it appear as if he had drowned to death.

The investigating officer has since revealed that the third suspect’s car, was used to ferry the body.

The three who have been deemed a flight risk will be detained at the Kitale Police station with the case set to be mentioned on November 11.

They will be charged with murder.
