NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 26- Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua was Monday questioned by police in an ongoing probe into fraud involving Sh12 billion.
The MP had been summoned by the detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations but when he failed to turn up in time, they went for him.
He was still being questioned by the detectives about companies associated with him that he is said to have used to do business with several entities including the Mathira constituency development fund.
Police say they have flagged 22 companies that he used in the business.
Already bank accounts linked to him and holding more than Sh200 million have been frozen as part of the probe.
Asset Recovery Agency is pursuing the matter.
DCI boss George Kinoti said his team will forward the investigation file to the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution for action. They plan to charge him with among others money laundering.
