KIRINYAGA, Kenya, Nov 1- A police officer shot dead his colleague in an argument while at work in Ndiriti village in Kirinyaga County on Saturday night.
The two were guarding Gathambi coffee factory on Saturday, midnight when an argument ensued.
Witnesses told Shahidi News that the argument degenerated to a fight before one of them picked a gun and shot his colleague at close range in the neck.
The deceased was identified as Constable James Oburu.
The body was moved to the mortuary before the said assailant was arrested and held at Baricho police station.
Police said they took away both firearms from the deceased and the said attacker for analysis to confirm if he used it.
It’s not clear what prompted the argument.
Senior officers visited the scene.
