NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 5- The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has clarified that Kenyans will not start paying hiked prices yet, saying the 20 percent proposed increment is not yet approved.
In a statement, the authority said the new proposed Kenya Power tariffs are still under review with no approvals made yet.
Members of the public will also get a chance to give their views about the proposals.
Director-General Robert Oimeke has asked Kenyans to be calm, saying the authority has not approved higher electricity prices.
The Kenya power has been pushing for a 20 percent increase in tariffs.
