NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov, 19 – A 39 year old man was Friday charged in a Nairobi court with defiling two minors. The minors are his children.

Ali Omar who stands accused of allegedly defiling his seven days old baby and three year old son pleaded not guilty to defilement charges days after he was arrested by police at his home in Kibera.

The accused was arraigned before Makadara Law courts magistrate Heston Nyagah.

Upon his arrest on November 17, the accused had been presented to the Kibera law courts but did not take plea after police sought custodial orders before chief magistrate Joyce Gandani to detain the accused for five days in order to complete investigations.

Friday however, in a turn of events, the courts issued a production order of the accused after which he was released on a Sh70,00 cash bail.

The move irritated the prosecution which presented Ali before Makadara law courts and charged him with three counts under the Sexual Offenses Act.

The prosecution, meanwhile updated the courts on the health status of the victims.

The three year old boy remain in stable condition but is complaining of pain in damaged anus while the seven day old baby remains in critical condition and needs blood.

They are both set to undergo surgery.

The accused was remanded at the Kilimani police station and is set to be arraigned at the Makadara law courts on November, 25 for his bail application ruling.
