NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 22- Police on Saturday arrested 44 school children and their host in an operation and seized various brands of alcohol and bhang in a house at Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate.
The children – 26 boys and 18 girls – are aged between 14 and 17 years.
All are in primary and high schools, police said.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation said their host, a woman aged 41, was picked up for questioning by detectives based at Dagoretti police command.
According to police, they seized different brands of whisky and vodka and bhang from the house.
Preliminary investigations revealed the children were from Nairobi, Kiambu Machakos counties and had been there for hours. It is not clear if their parents were aware of the meeting.
Already, officers have contacted some of their parents.
DCI George Kinoti said investigations are ongoing to establish how the children left out of their homes and travelled that far without raising suspicion from their parents.
“Police also want to establish why the woman had hosted the children and how the children got to her house,” he said.
“The DCI once again requests parents to take keen interest in their children’s activities at home and on the social media networks.”
This comes in the wake of revelations of an existing active group that is luring school girls to orgy house parties in Nairobi.
The group uses social media account named Carty-gang-ent to lure the girls for the orgies that run for days.
This followed an incident in which six girls who had been missing for almost a week were found in a house in Nairobi after their parents raised alarm. They are all teenagers in high school.
The girls had been shooting naked videos of their activities in the house in Thika town and shared them with limited friends.
Three of the girls are still in police custody as the said host is being sought after. He is said to be a doctor.
