NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 30- A police officer based in Kisii Central Police Station is set to face murder, following investigations by the Internal Affairs Unit that linked him to death of a suspect.
The officer, according to an incident report seen by Shahidi News, arrested the deceased alongside his colleague on December 19.
The victim however died the following day on December 20 while undergoing treatment from injuries inflicted on him by the officer.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has since approved the charges.
“The said officer has been arrested this afternoon and placed in custody awaiting to be arraigned before Kisii court tomorrow (Thursday),” reads the incident report.
The deceased has been identified as 28 year-old Bramwel Jimmy.
