NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 9- For more than a year, Christian Mwambay Kadima’s name became synonymous amongst city residents, particularly in the fitness circles.

An envy of many as some put it, the gym trainer and instructor was however known for some of his engagements and relationships with women outside the gym.

Women who have interacted with Kadima, now a murder suspect involving a city lawyer, describe him as a smooth tongue devil.

“He has an American accent and he’s one confident man while talking to a woman,” a lady who once met Kadima in 2019 told Shahidi News.

He often bragged of being a son of a diplomat, the Nairobi resident said.

Shahidi News could not however independently verify whether he is indeed the son of diplomat or not.

He is accused of killing Elizabeth Koki inside her Machakos home on Thursday night.

Koki, a lawyer, had confided in her friends that Kadima was abusive and at some point in September 2020,even shared pictures of injuries she had allegedly sustained after being physically assaulted.

“She always said that she would prefer charges against him. I am not sure if she ever did,” her friend, who was shocked to learn of her death said.

Four months after the September 2020 incident, Koki’s lifeless body was discovered by her house help, who had expressed concern about her welfare.

She had unusually overslept and did not leave her room, the nanny told police.

    • The caution Kadima issued in first dates-

Multiple women who have interacted with him said he was always open about his past. This however might have been part of his charm as he sought to endear himself.

“Imagine meeting someone on the first date and he opens up about everything,” another friend said.

He never failed to narrate of his experience in South Africa, where he is accused of assaulting a lady.

Kadima however defended himself claiming he was set up and that he would never harm, “even a fly.”

Miranda Jacobs from South Africa is still seeking justice for the injuries he allegedly inflicted on her back in 2017.

“He was worried that someone might learn about his past on the internet. That’s why he always threw that caution and unfortunately, he was quite convincing,” Mercy, who once went for a lunch date with Kadima said.

In Nairobi, he’s known as a Congolese national but detectives on Saturday said he was a holder of a Nigerian passport.

Just who is Kadima and is he in Kenya legally? The immigration department has already launched a probe on his status in the country.
