KIAMBU, Kenya, Jan 10- Before the Tuesday night macabre killings of his parents and siblings, Simon Warunge hatched a plan on how he would ambush his own family and eliminate them undetected.

A plan conceived and brutally executed by a young man considered kind and gentle, these were the endearing qualities that many who knew him well trusted and said gave him strength that defined who he was.

No one would have guessed what such a young man would however end up doing, channeling his strength of character into brute force, snuffing the life of those who held him dear to their hearts. His oblivious thoughts of how to get away with murder becoming his undoing as he was apprehend by police.

Detectives have revealed how the Mt Kenya University student went on what appears to be an endless void on the deep dark web searching for ways of killing his family as he forgot one simple thing, his digital footprints still lay bare for all to see.

His plan they say sounded like a John Grisham classic novel, while on the dark web, he acquired reading material about death and murder, eventually coming across a series where the main character was a psychopathic killer.

Delusional? Driving him to commit the unthinkable as he said there was no chance of him making a mistake.

For his crude ideas he sought crude weapons. His instruments of death: a 9 inch knife and a metal rod.

As detectives have gone on to establish, he would catch his victims unaware and hit them on their head and when they lost consciousness, proceed to brutally stab them on the chest before slitting their throats.

“He did it in a callous way that ensured no one survived,” a detective privy to the details of his statement told Shahidi News.

His father’s body, a United States based nurse, was found with 34 stab wounds.

Detectives say that during interrogation, the 22 year-old said he was not remorseful.

“He said his parents are satanic and killers and that they had portrayed him in bad light to everyone,” the detective based at the DCI Homicide unit said.

Lawrence even accused his parents at his local chief’s office alleging that they wanted to bewitch him. The matter was however not recorded after his mother picked him up saying he had mental issues.

The ties many thought bound them together, that blood was thicker than water meant nothing to him.

In a bid to unravel the mystery and debunk what might have led him to murder his family, Warunge will be subjected to a psychological examination to establish what triggered him to commit to the killings.

Why would a son want to harm his own blood?

On Monday, Shahidi News has learnt that detectives will be seeking more time to hold the suspect, pending conclusion of the investigations, currently underway.

The murder weapons; a blood stained knife covered in a piece of cloth were recovered on Saturday in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha where he proceeded after killing his family according to homicide detectives.

Some of the murder weapons were recovered in a pit latrine. Including a pair of shoes, trousers, jacket and keys. Two mobile phones belonging to the deceased father and the mason were also burnt.

Two of his siblings who were in school survived.

Also in custody is Warunge’s girlfriend who will be questioned by the sleuths. It remains unclear however whether she played a role in the brutal killings.
