NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 15- Jennifer Wambua, the murdered veteran journalist was a state witness in a multi-million corruption case, Shahidi News has established.

Her body was found at the City Mortuary on Monday.

“Her body was found in Ngong forest on Saturday and taken to the City Mortuary but it remained unidentified until today. She was strangled to death,” said a senior detective who spoke to Shahidi News while at the City morgue.

Wambua had already testified in the case and was to be cross-examined on Monday.

Shahidi News cannot however link her disappearance and subsequent murder to the ongoing case involving more than 20 individuals, among them a serving legislator.

Wambua was currently serving as an employee of the National Land Commission (NLC) and went missing on Friday last week.

The mother of three was a Deputy Communications Director at the Commission. A report of the incident had been made at the Capitol Hill Police station in Nairobi.

Her husband Joseph Komu made the report, police told Shahidi News.

    -CCTV footage-

On the day she went missing, Wambua had left her personal effects at the family vehicle’s boot.

Police had reviewed a CCTV footage of her movements into and out of the NLC offices that showed her get in on the day she went missing.

She left the offices at around 10am.

“She was alone,” a detective who has reviewed the footage said.

Her husband said he dropped the mother of 3 at the offices at about 7am and went to his place of work at Ministry of Agriculture at Kilimo House where he works after parking the car at a yard near his office.

“On this day when I called her early in the morning, she did not pick up my call. That was not usual since we are always in constant communication,” her husband said.

Her phone was mysteriously found at the husband’s car.

    Who killed Wambua and why?

Apart from a few areas that require tightening up you are so far doing a great job.All I can see is promise and a future.
      Keep it up.
