NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 30- A team of detectives from the Anti-Terror Police Unit and officers from the National Intelligence Service are currently piecing information together, to establish whether a British national has been spying on the Deputy President William Ruto.
This is after his drone strayed to his private home in Hardy area within Karen on Monday, causing panic.
The matter was reported to police by the DP wife Rachael Ruto.
“We have already received the drone and retrieved its memory card for further analysis,” Nairobi Police Boss Augustine Nthumbi told a news conference on Tuesday morning.
The British national was also summoned to the Nairobi police headquarters, where he was directed to write a statement.
“We will see from the memory card whether there’s content that would amount to breach of privacy and security,” he said while dispelling fear over the incident.
“Let’s wait for the outcome of the ongoing investigations.”
The probe is being led by Nairobi Criminal Investigations boss Bernard Nyakwaka.
The British national, according to the police boss, is a neighbour of the Deputy President in Karen.
Both his official residence and private homes are manned on a 24 hour basis and considered as high security areas.
