NAIROBI,Kenya, May 21 – Who killed the 8 year-old girl and for what reason?

And who were the three men who dropped off her body at the Mama Lucy Hospital in Kayole, Nairobi?

These are some of the questions detectives are grappling with and hope to find answers to, as a cloud of uncertainty hovers around the death of a young girl, who went missing on Wednesday afternoon.

Mitchel Jennifer was in good spirits when her mother dropped her at the New View Academy, within Kayole.

She is a learner at the institution.

“That day she did not go back home. We’re trying to establish what happened after she left school for home,” detectives probing the incident told Shahidi News.

She was last seen alive on Wednesday after her mother, Linda Achieng dropped her at the school in the morning.

The girl’s body was positively identified at the hospital on Thursday.

Police are now seeking to identify the three men who left her at hospital without leaving details of who she was, what had happened to her and where she was found.

“My daughter was supposed to be back home alongside some of our neighbors children after leaving school,” the deceased mother told Shahidi News.

Nairobi Police boss Augustine Nthumbi said investigations are underway

“This is a very serious matter, investigations are ongoing as we seek to identify the three men that took her to hospital and abandoned the body at the waiting bay,” the Nairobi County Commander said.

Police have since retrieved the CCTV footage at the Mama Lucy Hospital and is currently being examined by detectives.

“We’re hoping to have a positive facial description of the three men,” Nthumbi said.

Witness statements from the staff at the hospital have already been recorded.

“We are yet to know what transpired to lead to this. We are also yet to know the motive if any,” the police boss added.

The body is being preserved at mortuary awaiting postmortem.
