NAIROBI, Kenya, May 26- Police are investigating an incident in which a seven-year-old child died after she was hit by a pile of gas cylinders in Nairobi’s Kawangware area.
The girl was walking from school on Tuesday evening when the cylinders fell her.
She died on the spot. The cylinders were outside a shop in the area when they fell off.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.
-Man Electrocuted-
A man was electrocuted in an incident in Nairobi’s Pipeline area.
The body of the 24-year-old man was found inside a water tank which had been connected to a live wire.
It is believed he fell into the water tank after the electrocution.
The body was moved to the mortuary as investigations into the incident go on.
-Murder plea-
The head of Directorate of Criminal Investigations at Embakasi, Nairobi Simon Mutia Mwongela is expected to take murder plea today.
This was after the lapse of the ten days police were allowed to detain him to enable them complete investigations into a fatal shooting incident in Kayole, Nairobi.
Police handling the case said they are ready to arraign Mwongela over the murder of night guard Lapaja Topiwo, 23.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) was on May 17 presented before a Makadara law courts where police made a miscellaneous application to detain him to enable them complete their probe.
Mwongela was arrested on May 13 after he was engaged in an altercation with a night guard at the Night Square Hotel in the area prompting a shooting.
He shot Topiwo, 23 twice in the chest after a dramatic incident.
