FRANCE, Jun 8- Police in France have arrested two men, following an incident that saw President Emmanuel Macron slapped in the face.
A jovial Macron was seen greeting bystanders when the incident happened.
A man who extended his hand to greet the President then proceeded to slap him, before his security detail moved in and whisked him to safety.
President Macron had commenced his official visit to South-East, of France.
According to BBC, the man reportedly shouted “Down with Macron-ism” as he slapped the president.
The President was seen later interacting with the crowd after the incident.
