MANDERA, Kenya, Jun 22- Four police officers are currently receiving treatment, following a suspected Al-Shabaab attack on Tuesday morning in Mandera County.
Of those who were injured include Wargadud Police Station Deputy Officer Commanding Station (OCS).
The incident happened along Elwak road in Babaola area.
“They were 8 officers aboard a police land cruiser when they were attacked,” a senior police officer privy to the details of the incident told Shahidi News.
“They were sprayed with bullets, but managed to drive through the ambush.”
Those who sustained gunshot injuries are receiving treatment at Elwak Referral Hospital.
