HOMABAY, Kenya, Jun 25- A Member of County Assembly who allegedly led goons to the Ministry of Health Rachuonyo County hospital intending to viciously attack a doctor has been arrested.
The MCA was protesting alleged adminstrative changes effected by Dr Thedius Owiti.
Police told Shahidi News that the county legislator committed the heinous act alongside five goons, right inside the hospital’s High Dependency Unit (HDU).
“The room was found with chairs scattered around the room and the doctors on smashed on the floor,” a police officer who was among those who responded to the incident told Shahidi News.
Officers from Oyugis police station were forced to fire in the air, in a bid to disperse a group of goons that barricaded the road.
The goons managed to escape but the MCA was arrested.
The nominated MCA identified as Kevin Onyango will be arraigned on Friday.
Police in Oyugis are looking for the five goons accused of also assaulting the doctor.
