NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 27- A woman from Eastleigh area in Nairobi and her lover, both suspected to have been behind the recent kidnapping of Hafsa Mohamed Lukman, were on Sunday arrested while in a lodging in Naivasha.
The woman whom police identified as Hafsa Ahmed Abdi and her lover Jackson Njogu were traced to a lodging at the flyover junction in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
Police said they went into hiding after Lukman was found locked inside a deserted flat in Kayole.
Njogu, police said, runs a business in the area where the 23-year-old was found, after 5 days of missing.
Lukman who was tortured as her kidnappers demanded Sh5 million ransom before she was rescued on June 20.
According to detectives, the abductors of Lukman lured her with a business deal to supply watermelons, but then demanded a Sh5 million ransom. She runs a watermelons business in Kayole.
She was rescued from a house where she had been kept captive in a broken water tank.
The family of Hafsa Ahmed has been looking for her, suspecting she too had been abducted.
Police however say she was part of the kidnapping gang in Kayole.
The two will be arraigned on Monday, when police are set to seek for more time to conclude investigations. Police are looking for more suspects in the case.
