NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 21- Four people died Wednesday morning in an accident along Nairobi- Mombasa highway at Mlolongo, Machakos County.
Police said the four died on the spot after a matatu they were travelling in rammed into a stationary trailer.
The matatu was headed to Nairobi during the incident.
Ten other passengers were seriously injured.
According to National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), the body in charge of transport in Kenya, the country loses more than 3,000 lives to road accidents every year.
Efforts to reduce the figures have not been fruitful due to among other things poor roads and careless driving.
