NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 26- The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of strong winds in Eastern half of Kenya, with a capacity of blowing off roofs, uproot trees and cause structural damage.
“Those areas of concern should be on high alert,” the weather department said on Monday.
The strong southerly winds will be of over 25 knots (12.5m/s).
“People are urged to continue listening to local media as updates will be provided if conditions change significantly,” the department said.
The areas to be on the lookout include Coastal areas, South-Eastern Lowlands and North-Eastern Kenya.
Counties to be affected include Kitui, Tana River, Mombasa, parts of Malindi, Garissa and Wajir.
