NAIROBI,Kenya, Aug, 18 – A nanny at a Kileleshwa home was Wednesday arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts and charged with defilement contrary of section 8(1) as read with section 8(3) of the sexual offenses act.

According to the charge sheet presented in court the suspect allegedly on diverse dates between January and July 2020, defiled a 12 year-old minor at her employer’s home.

The incident occurred at Kileleshwa, Nairobi county.

Appearing before magistrate Jane Kamau, the accused pleaded not guilty to the first charge.

She was then charged with a second count of compelling/inducing an indecent act with a minor contrary of section 6(b) of the sexual offenses act.

The court was further informed that the accused compelled the 12 year old boy to engage in a sexual act with his five year-old sister.

She also pleaded not guilty to the second charge.

“Noting the contents of the charge sheet, I will seek a pre-bail report, which should be filed and in the meantime she should be placed at the Lang’ata women’s prison,”  magistrate Jane Kamau.

Based on the report, the court will decide on whether or not to grant the accused bail.

Court documents further revealed that the victim’s mother learnt of what had happened to her children months after the house help was no longer working for them.

Her children are said to have confided in their new nanny and later told their mother what the accused made them do.

The incident was shortly after reported to police in Kileleshwa.

The matter will be mentioned on September,1,2021.
