NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 21- The government has deployed 636 newly recruited Assistant County Commissioners to various working stations across the country.
The officials were deployed in a memo by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho who directed that they be mentored by competent and experienced officers who will offer guidance and support into the roles of a field administrative officer.
Nearly all the officers will be deployed in the Sub-County Headquarters.
These officers are equivalent to Division Officers (DOs) in the old constitution.
The new officials will chair various regional security meetings and coordinate national government affairs.
