NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 21- A suspected thug who police say was wanted for a series of robbery incidents was Monday night shot and killed in Mathare slums, Nairobi.
The suspect was in the company of two others who managed to escape when police struck, as they planned to commit a robbery.
Police say he was wanted for a series of mugging incidents reported in the area. Two knives were found on him.
The body was moved to the mortuary as the hunt on the other men who escaped goes on.
Police say they have intensified operations to tame cases of armed robberies in the city.
