Suspect Shot Dead In Botched Robbery In Ngara

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 19- A suspected thug was Tuesday morning shot dead in a botched robbery in Ngara, Nairobi.

The suspect was in the company of two others and was riding on a motorcycle while attacking and robbing people walking to the market in the area when police were alerted.

Police say the chase on the suspects started near St Theresa’s area in Mathare to Ngara, almost four kilometers away.

A pistol with three bullets was recovered from the suspect while two others managed to escape.

Locals say morning attacks from gangs are common in the area and the slain suspect was a known leader of the gang.

Police said they have mobilized more personnel to respond to the claims.

The body was moved to the mortuary.
