KISUMU,Kenya, Nov, 15 – Richard Oyoo was arraigned at the Winam Law Courts Monday and charged with three counts of defilement and deliberate transmission of HIV to a 13 year-old boy.
The court was informed that the accused committed the heinous act between October 29, 2021 and October 31, 2021, in Manyatta area of kisumu county.
He is said to have kidnapped the victim with the intention of seeking ransom from his family.
Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Chrispine Noel he’d denied the charges and was released on a Sh500,000 bond.
“That on the diverse dates between Oct 29 to Oct 31st in Manyatta having actual knowledge that you were infected with HIV intentionally knowingly and wilfully had unprotected sexual intercourse with a child aged 13 which infected the said child with HIV,” read the charge in part.
The matter is still under investigation.
