NAKURU,Kenya, Nov, 26 – A postmortem examination is set to be conducted Friday as the journalism fraternity mourns the death of veteran Health and Science scribe Gatonye Gathura whose body was Thursday positively identified at the Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.

The deceased who went missing is said to have been in the morgue and labeled as,”an unidentified male” by the local coroner.

His family had reported him missing in October.

Detectives investigating the circumstances and nature of his death said that he was positively identified using his fingerprints through the registrar of persons office.

Preliminary investigations further revealed that the deceased was found dumped along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu Road last month.

Residents of Kihoto estate notified police of the dead body….sleuths revealed that a copper wire had been wrapped around the deceased’s neck.

Naivasha DCIO Adan Mohamed told Shahidi News that the body did not have any identification documents at the time of discovery.

“It is possible that he could have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped, e are however investigating the matter,” said Mohammed.

“He was a very quiet man who preferred to remain alone and we came to learn of his death through police who confirmed his identity through his fingerprints,” said the deceased’s nephew Herman Ngure.
