NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 3- Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Robert Kibochi visited patients admitted at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital for a goodwill New Year message.

Gen Kibochi spent time with some of the patients at the facility and later presented gifts to them while encouraging them during his visit on January 2.

Among those he talked to were Kenya Defence Forces personnel who among others have been injured while on duty.

Others were dependents of the KDF personnel whom he offered a message of hope.

He also visited the Newborn Unit congratulating the new mothers.

General Kibochi was accompanied by his wife Tabitha Kibochi who is also the Chairperson of the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) and DFMH Chief Medical Officer Brigadier (Dr) Charles King’ori.

KDF is modernizing its medical facilities and expanding them in a move aimed at enhancing service delivery.

A new 150-bed military hospital was in October unveiled at Kahawa Garrison in Kiambu County while a level six hospital is being constructed at Kabete in Nairobi.

President Uhuru Kenyatta said they are developing medical facilities in Eldoret, Garissa, Manda, Lamu for the military. They will be equipped to meet the demands.

This will boost the military capacity to handle the increasing demands for the same.
