    2 Charged With Defiling A 14 Year-Old Girl In Kibera

    NAIROBI,Kenya, Dec, 5 – Emmanuel Mutemi and Kennedy Irungu Maina were Wednesday arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts and charged with gang-defilement of a 14 year-old girl in Kibera, Nairobi county.

    The two accused are alleged to have committed the despicable act on January 1,2022.

    They are said to have forced themselves on the teen after dragging her to a vacated house in the area.

    According to court documents, the victim was attending night prayers at a church near Amref grounds to usher in the new year and while walking home later in the night, she was ambushed and abducted by 5 men.

    The victim is said have been in the company of another person, who managed to escaped when she noticed the gang was becoming violent.

    The girl was later rushed to hospital where she received treatment.

    Police told the court that she aided them is identifying some of the accused.

    “We are in the process of tracing the other suspects,” said Inspector Jacob Ndunda of Golf Course police post.

    The two accused meanwhile denied the charges.

    They were released on a bond of Sh800,000 with two sureties of similar amount. 

    The case will be mentioned on January 20.
