    PICTURES: DP Ruto In Show Of Might During Eldoret Mega Rally

    NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 9- Deputy President William Ruto’s mega rally on Saturday attracted thousands of supporters in the Eldoret, as he got a nod to vie for the presidency from regional leaders. He also received elders’ blessings during the event.

    Tens of leaders from across the country attended the rally and committed to campaign for DP Ruto until he clinches the top seat.

    The Deputy President use the opportunity to root for his bottom-up economy strategy.

    He said if elected, he will set aside Sh100 billion to support small businesses.

    DP Ruto in Eldoret town.

    “We are determined to unite this country because we believe in politics of unity, issue and we do not believe in ethnicity and deceit,” the DP said.

    Those who accompanied DP Ruto pledged their allegiance

    “As Mount Kenya region, we shall stand with the Deputy President,” Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru sentiments echoed by Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok.

    Other leaders said while DP Ruto had plans for the future, his main rival, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga “stands for the status quo.”

    The Kirinyaga Governor said that the so-called ‘deep state and system’ will not be able to convince Mt Kenya, not to back Deputy President William Ruto.
