NAIROBI,Kenya, Jan, 14 – President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to host his Hungarian counterpart president János Áder, who will arrive in the country on Sunday,January 16, 2022.
He will be in Kenya for a four-day State Visit at the invitation of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Hungarian President, accompanied by First Lady Anita Herczegh, will be officially received by their hosts President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi on Monday, 17th January 2022.
Kenya and Hungary enjoy warm and strong bilateral ties dating back to 1964 when Hungary established an Embassy in Nairobi.
In recent years Nairobi and Bucharest have deepened cooperation allowing 100 Kenyan students to to study in Hungary annually as part of an education agreement.
In 2019 National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi led legislatures in a tour of Hungary at the invitation of the country’s speaker at the time, László Kövér.
Muturi underscored the place of Parliamentary Diplomacy in enriching bilateral relations in the modern world, noting that their respective legislatures are key agencies in the cultivation of closer ties.
He termed the visit as an important milestone in further strengthening Kenya-Hungary relations.
