    PICTURES: President Kenyatta Receives Hungarian President János Áder At State House

    NAIROBI,Kenya, Jan, 17 – President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta have officially received visiting President of the Republic of Hungary His Excellency János Áder and First Lady Anita Herczegh at State House, Nairobi.

    The Hungarian leader, who arrived in the country on Sunday for four-day State Visit, was accorded an elaborate State Reception that included a Guard of Honour mounted by a detachment of the Kenya Air Force and a 21-Gun Salute.

    Ader was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo and her ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru on Sunday.

    Kenya and Hungary enjoy warm and strong bilateral ties dating back to 1964 when Hungary established an Embassy in Nairobi.

    In recent years Nairobi and Bucharest have deepened cooperation allowing 100 Kenyan students to  to study in Hungary annually as part of an education agreement.

    The two heads of state are expected to sign several bilateral agreements that will deepen the existing relationship between the two country’s.
