NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 18- Security has been beefed-up ahead of Tuesday’s planned tour of Deputy President William Ruto of parts of Nairobi for the fourth time.
The DP and his team will visit parts of Karen, Kijiji in Langata, Kibra, Dagoretti and Kangemi.
Police say they have enhanced security to avoid any form of chaos.
The teams deployed on the routes have urged for civility among politicians and avoid name-calling as part of efforts to have peaceful campaigns.
On Sunday, the DP’s rally was disrupted in Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi over what those behind the incident called was name-calling by his team.
But his team accused the area MP Babu Owino of planning the violence.
Police were at some point forced to lob teargas, to disperse tens of goons, who were chanting anti-Ruto slogans.
The Deputy President is on a mission to get a share of Capital city’s votes, in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
