BARINGO,Kenya, Jan, 25 – Appearing before Justice Weldon Korir at Kabarnet High Court Monday, self-confessed serial killer Moses Kipchirchir Rutto, is set to undergo a psychiatric test before taking plea.
The suspect who is said to have killed more than six people is now set to spend three days in custody to give ample time for a conclusive mental assessment test to be consucted.
He will be remanded at the at the Nakuru GK prison.
The prosecution told the court that it was imperative he undergoes the test before taking plea next week on Wednesday.
Rutto was arrested by police on November 13,2021 and detained in Mogotio, after detectives linked him to the abduction and killing of businesswoman Veronica Kanini, who was reported missing on November 12,2021.
Upon interrogation by sleuths, he confessed to killing the woman and burying her body in a shallow grave on the banks of the Molo River.
The body was eventually retrieved and interred on November 24, 2021.
He is alleged to have killed more than six people in Baringo and Nakuru county. Detectives have so far retrieved the bodies of three people among them his wife and son.
