DCI Receives Vehicle From US Agency To Boost War on Crime

NAIROBI,Kenya, Jan, 28 – The Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, Wednesday received a donation of a motor vehicle from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the U.S. State Department.

The vehicle that was presented to the Director by Overseas Criminal Investigations Special Agent, Ryan Williams, will be used by a vetted unit of the DCI, assigned to the Bureau of Diplomatic Security based at the US embassy in Kenya.

The vehicle will go a long way in supplementing the vetted sleuths investigate crimes related to international travel and identifying document fraud in passports and visas, alien smuggling as well as human trafficking.

While lauding the continued partnership between INL and the DCI, Kinoti expressed his appreciation noting that not only will document fraud be probed promptly, but also crimes related to illegal wildlife products, narcotics and funds or weapons that support terrorism. 

Kinoti further insisted that the cooperation between the DCI and INL will play an important role in combating organizations that operate in the underworld and help to provide enhanced surveillance regionally and in the United States.

Also present during the ceremony were the assistant criminal fraud investigator for regional security, Samuel Kamau and the team leader, Robert Birir.
