    Kenya Army Commander Koipaton Tours Baringo, Samburu And Laikipia Amidst Insecurity

    LAIKIPIA,Kenya, Jan, 29 – Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General Walter Koipaton visited troops at the ongoing multi-agency security operation in Laikipia and its neighboring Samburu and Baringo Counties Friday.

    Lieutenant General Koipaton also inspected ongoing projects including the construction of security camps, roads and water projects across the counties.

    The projects are geared towards restoring normalcy in the three counties that are affected by insecurity incidences.

    A multi-security operation has been ongoing in the area amidst bandit attacks spanning several months.

    Scores of people including civilians and security personnel have lost their lives across the region.

    An ongoing operation in area surrounding the Laikipia Nature conservancy has see relative calm restarted with residence returning toothier homes.

    The government is meanwhile also spearheading various programmes including the construction of homes for affected residents.

    The Commander Kenya Army was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding Border Security Command Major General Stephen Radina, the Army Special Operations Brigade Commander Brigadier Seif Rashid and Colonel Operations and Plans at Kenya Army Headquarters, Colonel Kosgei Kimeli.
