LYON,France,Feb,14 – The Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, who is also INTERPOL’s Africa representative, is currently attending the inaugural executive committee session for delegates from Africa, at the Interpol Headquarters in Leone, France.
The meeting chaired by INTERPOL’s Secretary General Jürgen Stock, follows the election of the Executive Committee in November last year, where Kenya was elected to represent the continent in the global body. Mr Kinoti’s election to the key decision making body was an endorsement of the strategies that DCI has continued to implement in the fight against crime, not only in the country but also in the region.
In addition, DCI also hosts the regional INTERPOL Bureau bringing together 14 countries, the National Central Bureau and the Eastern Africa Counter-Terrorism Centre of Excellence, making DCI the seat of inter-agency investigations regionally.
Kinoti was elected alongside Sudan’s Khaled Mahdi Ibrahim Eleman to the posts of Delegate for Africa for a three year term in 2021.
