Suspected Robber Gunned Down In Korogocho As Police Recover Gun

NAIROBI,Kenya, Feb, 15 – A suspected robber was Monday evening shot dead by police following a gun battle in Nairobi’s Korogocho slums.

According to preliminary investigations,an alarm was raised by members of the public after the deceased alongside four others went on a rampage ransacking several shops within the area as well as robbing people at gun point.

A contingent of police officers was quickly deployed to the area amidst a gun battle resulting in the death of one of the suspected robbers.

Four others managed to escape from the scene of crime amidst a manhunt.

Police say that a firearm belonging to the deceased was recovered at the scene as well as four bullets, viagra tablets,bhang, ten sim cards and mobile phones.

Police who spoke to Shahidi News say that cases of robbery have been on the rise in the area amidst daily operations to weed out criminals gangs.
