NAIROBI,Kenya, Feb, 20 – Four people were killed after the vehicle they were commuting in plunged into a railway line.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred near Dagoretti area in Nairobi county.
During the Sunday morning incident, two other people were injured and rushed to nearby hospitals.
Police say among those killed were two Kenyans and two Canadian citizens.
“The vehicle they were traveling in hit a roadside barrier and plunged before plunging into the railway tracks,” said Nairobi deputy police boss James Mugera said.
The driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle and was traveling from Karen to the city center.
Early Sunday morning a huge traffic snarl-up was witnessed in the area amidst attempts to save the victims lives.
“This road is becoming vert dangerous, we need the relevant authorities to ensure such incidents do nt occur again,” said a witness.
Investigations into the accident police said are ongoing.
