NAIROBI,Kenya, Mar, 7 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a ‘message of good luck’ to candidates sitting their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.
Kenyatta in a joint statement with first lady Margaret Kenyatta told candidates that they believed in them no matter the outcome and that the examinations were not an end themselves.
“We know you have been imparted with adequate knowledge and information for the task ahead of you. Your dedication and hard work will surely lead you to victory,” read a statement from the president and the first lady.
The president further said that the reforms witnessed in the education sector ensures that every learner has an opportunity,”to be part of something great in the building of our greta nation,”
“May God give you good understanding and may God bless the work of your hands,”
According to the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), a total of 1,225,693 candidates are sitting the examinations.
They are spread across 28,248 exam centers nationwide.
Candidates began the exams with Mathematics and will then sit for the English and English composition exam in the afternoon.
Science paper,Kiswahili Lugha,Kiswahili Insha and Kenyan sign language will dominate day two on Tuesday while on Wednesday, candidates will sit for their Social studies and religious education paper.
