NAIROBI,Kenya, Mar, 7 – The court was back in session Monday in the high profile murder case of former Rongo university student Sharon Otieno with a waiter at Racier Hotel in Rongo taking to the stand to give his testimony on what he saw the night Sharon was killed.

The waiter, Andrew Omolo Okelo told the court that the deceased was in the company of another young man as they enjoyed a glass of wine.

Sharon was pregnant at the time.

Okello said that he later identified her after seeing a news item that she had been killed.

“I was watching the hotel Television on September 5th 2018 when I saw news of the lady I had served with Penasol wine, that she had been murdered ” Andrew told the court.

Appearing before high court judge Cecilia Githua, Okello said that he identified Sharon who was in the company of another man. They are said to have sat at the verandah facing the bar.

Before initially serving them, Sharon is said to have told the waiter to give them a few minutes before later calling him and ordering Penasol wine which came with two glasses.

A third person, a man, is said to have come into the bar and later paid for the drinks.

He did not stay too long at the bar, said the witness.

Sharon is then alongside the unidentified man said to have left and followed the other man who paid their bill.

The waiter who doubled up as cashier said that he saw them leaving as they told him to keep the Sh250 change.

Migori Governor Zachary Okoth Obado his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Casper Obiero, a clerk in Migori County are charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno and her unborn child.

The incident is said to have occurred on September 3 and 4 2018 at Owade in Rachuonyo Sub-county, Homa Bay County.
