Kenya- Saudi Arabia Resolve To Enhance Bilateral Relations

RIYADH,Saudi Arabia, March 13 – In the backdrop of the the first session of the Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) between Kenya and Saudi Arabia which was held in Riyadh,from March 9 to 12, 2022, the long historical partners are expected to further enhance bilateral relations.

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Raychelle Omamo led a delegation at the invitation of host Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud with socio-economic development issues taking center stage.

The two ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations aimed at strengthening the existing friendly relations while reiterating the importance of the Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) set to elevate the two country’s diplomatic relations.

As part of the pact, the two nations will engage in discussions around ICT, transport, labour and consular affairs and even development cooperation.

“I believe that this milestone is a manifestation of the fortitude that our countries and peoples have to deepen, reinforce and expand our relations of mutual interest,” said Omamo.

Meanwhile on the sidelines of the event,the Cabinet Secretary held bilateral talks with Dr. Abdullah Nasser Abuthnain, Vice Minister of Human Resource and Social Development for Labour in Riyadh. discussing issues around labour and consular operations between Kenya and Saudi Arabia.
