Appearing before chief magistrate Wendy Micheni, the accused sought for a lenient bond term while also denying the charges.

Through his lawyer he also sought an out of court settlement saying that he wanted to resolve the matter amicably.

“This is a normal assault case only that it involves a police officer who is the complainant in this matter, I am pleading for a lenient cash bail on behalf of my client, I have indicated to the prosecution that we wish to settle this matter out of court “Said the accused’s lawyer.

Waitima was released on a Sh30,000 cash bail.
