NAIROBI,Kenya, Mar, 24 -Sarah Makena Njeri, who filed a case in court, allegeding to have been groped by a man identified as Ramadhan Johnson has now asked the court to withdraw the case saying that she has forgiven the accused.

Appearing at the Milimani law court, the victim said that she had resolved to withdrawn the case.

“That I am competent to swear this affidavit. I have not been coerced, intimidated or influenced by any person including the accused into my decision to forgive him and withdrawal  this case” read Sarah’s affidavit in part.

The accused, Johsnon, was however not in court after the Industrial area remand prison failed to produce him in court

He was detained after failing to raise the Sh300,000 bond or Cash bail of Sh100,000.

According to court documents, the 21 year old is said to have indecently touched the victim’s backside without her consent.

“You are charged that on March 10th along Murang’a Road Nairobi, you intentionally and unlawfully touched the buttocks of the victim against her will,” read a section of the charge sheet.

The incident which is further said to have occurred at around 9pm, saw the accused follow the victim after she briefly returned to her store in order to start and umbrella she was carrying.

“While coming back from the store as she was walking along a narrow path, she was attacked by the accused person in this case from behind who intentionally touched her buttocks with his hands and pulled her towards his body” read a police report.

Johnson is further said to have hailed insults to the victim, constantly referring to her as a prostitute.

She is then said to have shortly fled the scene for her own safety upon realizing three other men were approaching her.

The matter was reported to the central police station on March 11,2022 after efforts by mediators to have the accused apologize proved futile.

Johnson pleaded not guilty to one count of committing an indecent act with an adult before being released on a bond of Sh300,000 with alternative cash bail of Sh100,000.

The case was initially set to be mentioned on March,28,2022.
