NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 25- Outgoing Narok Governor Patrick Oe Tunai has defected from the ruling Jubilee Party and joined Deputy President Willliam Ruto’s led United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Tunai has served the constitutional two terms in the office and will now be seeking to be elected as the next Narok County Senator.
His move comes a day after Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku ditched Jubilee and joined Raila Odinga’s led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Tunai has further declared his support for former Interior Chief Administrative Secretary Patrick Ole Ntutu’s gubernatorial bid, under the UDA party.
His defection to Ruto’s camp on Friday came just days after his Trans Nzoia counterpart Patrick Khaemba joined UDA.
They were both supporting the Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s led Azimio la Umoja coalition.
Odinga is the presidential candidate for Azimio.
DP Ruto said Tunai will bring “leadership experience” to his camp.
