NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 26- The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) will represent Kenya during the 94th Academy Awards recognized as ‘Oscars’ at the Dubois Pelin & Associates (DPA) gift suite which commenced Friday March 25th to 26th this year in Los Angeles, California.
During the event, KICC will market Kenya as a business and conference destination through innovative exhibition opportunities by showcasing various Kenyan brands to guests and celebrities coming by the ‘Kenyatta International Convention Centre Delegate Experience Gifting Suite’.
KICC with its partners will engage various stakeholders, potential investors, celebrities, film makers and producers who will push and enhance the various brands through the engagement and sell Kenya’s destination.
KICC will be represented by Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Nana Wanjiku Gecaga who will be leveraging on her vast international conference networks and previous experience will also utilize the world’s most high-end, exclusive exhibition to push for the New KICC Delegate Experience Marketing Campaign.
Other representatives are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through their mission in Los Angeles with the Chargè D’ Affaires, James Omosa Rwoti and Ms. Irene Wamuyu Johnson, who is the Tech Asst Trade, Economics.
Prior to joining the government, Ms. Gecaga, known locally and globally for marketing Kenya through these suites, had previously partnered with DPA in the suites.
In a press statement sent to newsrooms, Ms. Gecaga said the campaign is aimed at delivering marketing communication that is aligned to KICC’s mandate with an objective to sell Kenya’s destination through incentive travel.
“KICC’s larger mandate is to market the venue through meetings, incentives travel, conferences and exhibitions,” she added.
The CEO at the same time announced that KICC has partnered with both Public and Private sectors to support the Awards which is expected to bring a lot of benefits to the country.
“This was occasioned by the partners’ realization and recognition of potential and value of this new venture, a platform providing innovative ways for Kenyans brands and organizations to be showcased,” said Nana.
She said KICC is also expecting other partners to come on board as the initiative progresses to push Kenya not only as a premier tourism destination but also as a business, conference, film, sports heritage and culture destination.
“We will also market our natural talent and individual crafts our people hold that needs to be given international platforms for them to showcase,” she added.
Government ministries that KICC will represent at the suite are Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Sports and Culture and Kenyatta International Convention Centre (Delegate Experience).
