KISII, Kenya, Mar 26- Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi has assured that the government has put all the necessary measures to ensure the electioneering period is peaceful, and subsequently, the transition.
He however cautioned politicians against dividing Kenyans along tribal lines and uttering words that might cause a breach of peace.
To the political aspirants, he said they should not drag public servants into their agenda while seeking votes.
He said civil servants are there to serve all Kenyans, irrespective of who is elected.
“We do not take sides as civil servants,” Matiangi said. “We just want peace in our country.”
He said, “we will do whatever it takes to ensure we have a peaceful election and transition. No violence will be experienced.”
