MOMBASA,Kenya,Apr, 6- A member of the Panga Boys, an organized gang terrorizing residents of Changamwe, in Mombasa county has been arrested by police days after being suspected of robbing a female police officer.
The police identified the suspect as Daniel Kimani Aondi.
According to preliminary reports, It is alleged that Aondi is a member of the gang that attacked the officer who was attached to the Makupa Police Station.
She is said to have sustained injuries during the attack.
Police also said that, the officer, Saadia Abdi lost her uniform, beretta, name tag and ceremonial belt to the gang.
The gang also escaped with other personal effects in the Tuesday 5am incident.
The officer said she was leaving her residence in the Magongo area when she was confronted by a gang that was armed with machetes.
The arrested suspect was found in possession of a police uniform belonging to the female officer.
The suspect is being held at Changamwe Police Station awaiting to be charged with robbery with violence according to police.
