NAIROBI,Kenya, Apr, 6 –  Bernard Wandera was arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts and charged with stealing his employer’s, Edwin Osigwar, motorcycle in Kawangware, Nairobi.

The incident is said to have occurred on April 1,2022.

According to court documents, the accused is alleged to have picked up the bodaboda on the fateful day and went to a local pub. Upon the leaving the pub he is said to have reported that the motorcycle was stolen.

Despite a search for the motorcycle, the efforts proved futile.

Shockingly however, the victim’s attempt to find Wandera proved difficult as he had switched off his phone. He wanted to inquire whether the matter had been reported to the Muthangari police station.

His attempts to escape however proved futile as he was eventually arrested by police.

Wandera was employed by Osigwar and they had agreed that he would remit a daily return of Sh300 from the bodaboda business.

The accused who was arraigned before  senior principal magistrate Esther Bhoke denied the charges.

He was released on a surety bond of Sh300, 000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh100, 000.

The case will be mentioned April 19,2022.
