NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 15- Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has lost in the United Democratic Alliance nominations held on Thursday.

The vocal legislator was floored by her political nemesis Laikipia East MP Amin Deddy.

She was seeking the UDA ticket to vie for the Laikipia East constituency seat.

Deddy, the incumbent MP, managed to garner 12,723 votes against 5,595 votes for Waruguru.

Waruguru was formerly in the Jubilee Party but ditched it for UDA, “after talks with my people.”

In Kapseret Consticueny, legislator Oscar Sudi was declared the winner after garnering 14,531 votes in the UDA primaries against Pauline Tuwei’s 4,144 votes.

Sudi is seeking a third term as a Member of Parliament for Kapseret in the August 9 poll.

Gichugu MP Gichimu Githinji bagged the UDA ticket after defeating his two rivals. Githinji garnered 13,034 votes to win the party primaries.

Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno also won the UDA primary.

Ng’eno, who is serving his second term, garnered 14, 381 votes against his only competitor David Keter who got 9,128 votes.
