MURANGA, Kenya, May 9- Security agencies in Murang’a County are mourning the sudden death of their colleague minutes after he invited them for a meal on Sunday.
Eric Kirui Cheruiyot reported that he was called by Vincent Kirui to the Kambirwa Police Station inviting him to a goat eating party.
The feast was to be enjoyed at Kandundu but the worst happened in the last minutes of the much-awaited moment.
Cheruiyot together with Michael Wanjohi Mureithi arrived at Kandundu junction and decided to call their host for directions only for the phone to be answered by a female.
“The lady who answered our call informed me that my host had collapsed and was lying on the ground,” Cheruiyot said.
The two guests rushed to the scene and found the officer lying on the ground gasping for air.
They assisted him to the vehicle and rushed him to Murang’a Level 5 hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
It was later established that the deceased had a medical condition of recurrent deep thrombosis; he has been attending clinics at Nairobi West hospital.
The body is lying at Muranga Level 5 hospital mortuary.
